GENERAL INFORMATION
 |
Volunteers will be asked to sign-in and provide their cell phone
numbers for contact during the race and to let them know when the race is over.
|
 |
We will use cell phones and two-way radios to communicate to
those out on the course, bring both if you can.
|
 |
Volunteers can expect to be out on the course from 09:30 am
until 1:00 pm.
|
 |
Some volunteers will be used for the 09:00 am kids race.
|
 |
ALL volunteers will be used for the 10:00 am Main Event.
|
 |
If you have a bike, bring it so you can ride to your assigned
spot.
|
 |
If you don't have a bike, we will put you in a location that you
can hike to or drive part way.
|
 |
A lawn chair would be a good idea if you didn't think you could
stand for the entire event.
|
 |
Please print out a map from our website and bring it to the
volunteer meeting so that we can mark your assigned position. (Click

PRE-RACE
 |
Chris Tompkins (SVMBA President) will be assigning volunteer
locations from 8:30 am to 9:00 am.
|
 |
Volunteers with medical training are asked to meet with Jason
Bookheimer. You will be given specific details with
regards to EMS situations and how they will be handled.
|
 |
Danville P,R &T will be providing pre-race gatorade, water, and snacks to
volunteers at the pre-race meeting.
|
 |
Please bring a cooler to put your drinks and snacks in so they
will stay cold for the duration of the event.
|
 |
The volunteers assigned to the water stop will have the
opportunity to drive their vehicle to the water location with ALL the water and
gatorade we have, to avoid a re-supply situation. We will need a vehicle
with plenty of room in the trunk.

DURING RACE
 |
Please bring a rain coat or umbrella just in case it rains.
|
 |
Please bring insect repellent for ticks.
|
 |
Please bring sunscreen if it's sunny.
|
 |
Please bring a permanent marker (i.e. Sharpie) to mark racers
bibs if they get off course.
|
POST-RACE
 |
Volunteers can expect post-race grub (pizza and/or subs) and
goodies like cookies, fruit, gatorade and bottled water.
|
 |
If you drive your vehicle to any site on the course,
please make sure your vehicle is completely off the road where you park so that
EMS vehicles can move freely throughout the park.
