The 7th Annual "Southside Scramble" will be held on Saturday September 26th at Anglers Ridge - Danville, Virginia. 
 
Assistant Outdoor Director - Jason Bookheimer will serve as Race Director for this event.  He will be passing along all race information to SVMBA which will be listed here on the SVMBA website.

The Southside Scramble has long been an event that was one of the highlights of the Virginia Derailer Series and we were determined to keep this event going no matter what !!!

Expect the same great event as in years past, as we here at SVMBA layout a great new course for the Scramble.  Our course WILL BE DIFFERENT from the course used for our Spring event - The Shootout on Anglers Ridge.  So it's like a whole new race !!!

On-line registration ends at 12:15 am Friday September 25th.  
 
NO ONLINE REGISTRATION FEES !!!  All BikeReg.com fees are waived ... So Please Register Early !!!
 
NO LATE FEES !!!    For those who chose to register on race day.
 
For those who pre-register, we will have pre-printed waivers with all your information so all you have to do is sign it.  AGAIN, You HAVE to sign that document to race. 
 
For those who do not pre-register, we will have blank waiver forms available for signing at race registration.
 
Registration OPENS at 8:00 am and CLOSES at 9:30 am.  Please help us out by arriving as early as possible.
 
Registration will consist of 4 different lines.  One for each Category (PRO-CAT 1/CAT 2/CAT 3) and one for those who pre-register.  Our volunteers will work hard to keep the lines moving constantly.
 
MANDATORY racer meeting at START/FINISH LINE at 9:40 am for ALL RACERS (this includes Beginners)
 
IMPORTANT:  At 9:50 am all racers will be escorted to the Start Area which will be .5 miles away from the Start/Finish Line.

Race Begins at 10:00am.
 
 
GENERAL RACE INFORMATION
 
We will have cool water out on the course and lots more water at the finish line to keep you hydrated.
 
Post-race grub will be pizza from Papa Johns, Fresh Fruit, Cookies and bottled water.
 
We have over $1,000.00 in cash and prizes.  We've even committed to a minimum payout for the PRO EXPERT Category.  If you want to see THE LEAST you can take home check out our website.
 
The course at Anglers Ridge is only missing one thing . . .  YOU !!! 
 
So come on out and race, we have great singletrack to challenge everyone.

Virginia DeRailer Series kicks off 2008 season in Danville.

 

On Saturday, May 3rd, Danville will host race #1 of The Virginia DeRailer Series.  The 6th Annual Southside Scramble will be an exciting start to the series this year.

SVMBA has spent the past 6 years building more than 17 miles of Southside's sweetest singletrack and the Anglers Ridge Trail System has established it's reputation as an outstanding trail system offering a "cross-country" experience not usually found in an urban park setting.
